Governor Phil Murphy highlighted our agency during his daily press briefing
In 2020, we were honored to have been selected by the state of New Jersey to provide PR, marketing, and outreach for its COVID-19 relief grant programs for small businesses. Most notably in just 6 months, we organized 32 webinars and generated media coverage reaching over 30 million people. This impact prompted Governor Phil Murphy to spotlight our agency during a COVID-19 briefing. “The Tara Dowdell Group has done really good work, particularly for minority-owned small businesses and the engagement they had with the Economic Development Authority.”
Because of our efforts, the New Jersey grant programs reached and funded small businesses that were locked out of other grant programs and those that were hardest hit by the pandemic.
- 70% of the small businesses that received grants from the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority had not received any other COVID-related public sector funding
- 40% of the small businesses that received grants from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority were located in the state’s most economically disadvantaged communities
